Tell us a little bit about Butler’s Pantry. What makes your organization unique in St. Louis?
From lavish, over-the-top receptions, to budget conscious non-profit galas… from private dinners for 5 to family picnics for thousands… since 1966, Butler’s Pantry has been committed to excellence in cuisine, service & overall event experience! Our team makes every effort to listen to our clients’ complete vision in order to not only meet but exceed expectations. Having been in the industry for 50 years, we’ve been able to develop trusted, valued relationships with other vendors in the industry to make sure we can provide each client with the very best in linens, A/V, florals, entertainment & other specialty rentals & services.
The sheer size of our team is a huge advantage as well. Not only does it allow us to handle just about anything a client throws our way, but it also challenges each of us to be creative in menu planning, logistical management & event design. And because of our size, we can lessen or even eliminate a lot of overhead costs that typically get passed down to clients. We are able to provide many of our own rentals (tables, chairs, china, flatware, glassware, serving pieces, etc.) & thus pass along savings to you.
What item(s) do you guys provide that every bride should have on her menu?
For us, it’s all about the customization – each menu is truly unique & thoughtfully crafted for each of our brides. Every bride has her vision of what her dream wedding looks like. Our sales & culinary team work with each couple to create their own items, their own menu – making sure every couple has a menu that perfectly complements their unique style!
What’s the most unique reception you’ve done in the last year and why?
One particularly unforgettable evening comes to mind – it was a modern, romantic celebration, free from the expected traditions & fuss that comes with receptions. The couple & their guests enjoyed a customized menu of twists on classics. Six innovative courses were presented, including a play on a traditional Caesar (charred romaine with preserved lemon, parmesan, grilled croutons & a made-to-order Caesar dressing) & Macaroni & Cheese (enhanced with uni crème, buttered lobster claw & fresh conchigliette). For one of the courses, Chef took to the floor to introduce the course: guests were instructed to remove the mason jar over their St. Louis barbequed pulled rib sliders, allowing actual smoke to escape & entice the senses – a wonderful tribute to the couples’ love of St. Louis BBQ.
As if the menu itself wasn’t stand out enough, with each impressive course, the couple rotated tables, enabling them to enjoy quality time with every guest. A novel & brilliant way to be the most gracious of hosts & loveliest of clients!
